Position: VDC Modeler

Position Overview: The VDC Modeler will work closely under the guidance of the Senior VDC Modeler, playing a crucial role in Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) within the construction industry. This role is designed to support the VDC team in the creation of 3D models, coordination, and documentation for electrical construction projects. The VDC Modeler will contribute to the efficient execution of projects by ensuring that models are accurate, clash-free, and optimized for construction. The VDC Modeler reports directly to the Senior VDC Modeler.
Primary Responsibilities:
- 3D Modeling and Coordination: Develop and maintain detailed 3D models for electrical systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements. Perform clash detection using Navisworks and assist in resolving any conflicts.
- Documentation Support: Creation of electrical design-build documents and prefabrication drawings. Ensure all documentation aligns with company standards and project specifications.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the VDC team, Project Managers, and Field Supervisors to ensure seamless communication and implementation of VDC models in the field. Attend coordination meetings and provide input on model-related issues.
- Software Utilization: Utilize software such as Navisworks, Revizto, BIMTrack, BIM 360 to develop models, track issues, and collaborate with team members.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in VDC/BIM technologies. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Support and Training: Assist in training field and project management staff on VDC/BIM practices and software. Provide support as needed to ensure efficient use of VDC resources.
- Flex Role: Adapt to varying team needs depending on workload and availability of team members. Provide modeling or drafting support as required.
Proficiencies Desired:
- Proficiency in Navisworks for clash detection and coordination.
- Familiarity with Revizto or BIMTrack for model collaboration and issue tracking.
- Knowledge of Trimble or Point Layout Tools for accurate layout and positioning.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and construction practices.
- Experience with BIM 360 for project management and collaboration.
- Knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) coordination and integration.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of full-time Revit use.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in VDC/BIM modeling, preferably in the electrical construction industry.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Candidate with any of the following will be given top priority:
- Electrical Journeyman License
- Drafting Degree or Certificates

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
