Have fun this summer! Stay busy meet new people learn new skills and earn some cash! Apply for a position through the City of Keene's Summer Youth Program as a Summer Youth Worker! We are looking for self-motivated team players who would like the opportunity to develop leadership skills increase their confidence and gain practical work experience. Positions available include Administrative Support Paraprofessional and Service/Maintenance. Some departments you may be working in include the Library Human Resources Finance and Public Works! The pay rate is $8.50 - $9.00 per hour depending on experience. To qualify for the program youth must be Keene residents who are at least 14 years of age - and who aren't yet 16 years of age - as of June 1 2024. Youth Services designed this program to give Keene youth meaningful part-time summer employment for five weeks beginning on June 24th and ending on July 26th. Apply today! Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Summer Youth - Administrative Support

  • Works under the general supervision of the department assigned.
  • Provide general clerical; administrative and receptionist support to the department.
  • Responsible for following safety and other departmental rules.

Summer Youth - Paraprofessional

  • Works under the general supervision of the department assigned.
  • Provide general support to either the Keene Public Library or the Parks & Recreation & Facilities' department's recreation function only. (Support to the parks and facilities functions or the office functions are covered by different job descriptions in different federal Equal Employment Opportunity categories.)
  • May be responsible for following/enforcing the rules of the library or the Recreation Center.

Summer Youth - Service/Maintenance

  • Works under the general supervision of the department assigned.
  • May be responsible for cleaning city grounds and trails.
  • May be responsible for assisting in recycling.
  • May be responsible for maintaining city grounds and trails.
  • Responsible for following safety and other departmental rules.
  • May be required to lift items that weigh more than 25 lbs.

Requirements

City of Keene resident

Youth must be at least 14 years of age -but not yet 16 years of age - as of June 30; 2020

Available to work part-time for five weeks; beginning in July.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs desired.
