This is a full-time, on-site position in Lebanon, NH.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist to join our research team located in Lebanon, New Hampshire to develop novel siRNA/ASO therapeutics for disease areas such as chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in RNA Biochemistry, Th2 and/or IBD immunology or an equivalent scientific discipline. Proficiency with immunological cell-based assays, in particular specialized Th1/Th2 assays and M1/M2 assays is a plus. The ideal candidate is a great team player with solid bench skills, self-accountability, with high quality data generation, documentation, and presentation skills.
Successful candidates should be self-motivated, highly creative, have significant experience and mechanistic understanding of aspects of the RNA life cycle (e.g. mRNA processing, RNA degradation, mRNA translation, immunogenicity), and have a passion to develop and move research programs forward in a vibrant start-up environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and establish assays (cell culture and biochemical activity assays) to support hit-to-lead (H2L) and lead optimization
- Contribute to drug discovery programs, leading project execution with a focus on R&D outcomes
- Design and perform mechanism of action studies
- Implement cellular assays to study nucleic acid biology and the effect of nucleic acid manipulation (e.g., reporter assays, ASO or siRNA approaches and mutagenesis)
- Provide and communicate high-quality data on time and document results as requested
- Create and implement project strategies to identify high-quality development drug candidates, identify key decision points, and manage risk
- Identify and develop short-, mid-, and long-term R&D objectives alongside senior management
- Prioritize and coordinate research activities and allocate resources between internal staff and external contract research organizations (CROs)
- Proactively communicate project strategy, anticipate potential issues, and recommend appropriate resource decisions
- Communicate closely with internal and external team members across multiple disciplines to achieve project goals

- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology, mRNA delivery, Th2 and/or IBD immunology or an equivalent scientific discipline, or MS with ≥2 years’ experience in a biotech/pharma
- Knowledge of RNA therapeutics more broadly, RNA delivery, RNA/DNA design, and immunogenicity
- Strong molecular and cell biology background in discovery research
- Well-versed in RNA/DNA molecular biology methods as evidenced by publications in relevant journals or patents
- Proficiency in using a wide range of laboratory techniques including extensive experience in basic immunological techniques such as Th1/Th2 T cell assays, ELISA, flow cytometry, T/B/myeloid cell functional assays, and immune cell isolation is desired
