BSP Trans, Inc. has been providing the Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont areas with outstanding LTL transportation services since 1970. At BSP, our team consists of a six-terminal network across our coverage area to ensure swift deliveries for customers.
This individual will report to the Vice President of Operations and preferably be located in our Londonderry NH office.
What You Will Do On a Typical Day
- Coach, educate and lead terminal managers / Operations Staff
- Prepare and implement action plans to ensure planned productivity and service goals are achieved.
- Prepare and manage safety, security, and loss prevention procedures in accordance with Company, OSHA, and DOT guidelines.
- Submit various financial and operational reports and action plans as directed.
- P&L responsibility
- Development and analysis of reports and data to leverage improved operations.
- Strong Operations background to include knowledge and execution of Routing, dock operations, pickup and delivery and linehaul.
- Interpret, implement, and enforce company work instructions and company policies.
- Regular travel to terminals within NH, VT and ME
- The ability to develop processes and to implement and train on them.
- Other duties as assigned by the Vice President
What You Need To Succeed At BSP
- Candidates must have proven leadership experience and the ability to lead in a fast-paced environment. We would prefer someone with formal management training and at least 5 years of management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of LTL Industry, DOT Rules and Regulations, OSHA Laws, Hazardous Materials Regulations, NMFC and Tariff Rules, and company policies and procedures, preferred.
- Strong Organizational / Communication/ and Logistical skills with solid problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of all aspects of ensuring quality freight handling techniques preferred.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree a plus
- Must have computer skills, be proficient with Microsoft Office products
- A good understanding of Samsara, Acordex, CLI and EDI preferred
