Summary And Essential Functions
Assisting Patients in ordering Meals according to Diet guidelines, and delivering food trays in timely manner per tray delivery policy. To provide guests and employees with clean and sanitized utensils, plate ware, glassware, equipment, and environment.
- Taking Food orders over the phone and enter into the System according to Diet and Guidelines.
- Setting up Food trays for Patients according to Diets and Guidelines.
- Delivers room service as requested by the kitchen staff.
- Adheres to the maximum of 10 min room service delivery time, round trip.
- Collects trays and carts as needed from patient floors. Follows universal precautions for handling patient service items.
- Sanitize all transport carts & tray carts on a daily basis.
- Maintain par level on paper goods and kitchen chemicals, puts away all incoming vendor orders, as requested.
- Removes trash, fry oil, breaks down and recycles Boxes, removes recyclables from the kitchen at least once per shift and as needed.
- Provides patients, guests and employees with clean and sanitized utensils, plate ware, glassware, and equipment. Follows proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures.
- Sets up and breaks down scheduled functions or as directed by shift leader.
- Sets up dish machine in the AM and closes down machine in the PM according to procedures.
- Record dish machine temperature on log sheet, both AM and PM shifts, daily.
- Trouble-shoots dishwasher machine malfunction & communicates to shift leader.
- Cleans and sanitizes work area throughout the shift.
- Places clean plate ware, glassware, silverware and pot/pans in specified shelves according to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
- Completes assigned prep work and duties.
- Stocks nursing unit kitchenette areas using appropriate par levels and rotation.
- Aide will assist with maintaining temperature and cleaning logs.
- Aide must be willing to continually seek new training and education in the department.
- Works with the shift leader, line cooks and other staff to provide food service needs in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines and assists Shift leader with food prep and other duties as needed.
- Restocking all items in the Patient assembling station for the next service time
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established LRH policies to achieve the overall objectives of department.
- Maintains positive attitude and respectful communication with others.
- Communicates necessary information with team members at change of shift and as needed.
- Proficient in basic computer skills to complete required department and hospital wide training and communication electronically as needed.
REPORTS TO: Kitchen Manager, Shift Leader, Dietitian

Qualifications
Experience/Specialized Skills: Minimum of 2 years of food experience preferred. Knowledgeable about proper food safety and sanitation procedures for labeling, dating, rotation, preparation, and storage. Safe knife handling skills. Basic Computer skills
Required Education/Course(s)/Training
Preferred Certification/Registration: Food Handler Certification preferred, required within 1 year.
