Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Associate is responsible for ensuring the electronic and paper medical records are not comingled and in a usable format. This role involves conducting audits, identifying discrepancies, implementing corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maintain HIPAA compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular audits of electronic and paper medical records to ensure that there are no comingled files.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to improve the efficiency and accuracy of medical record management.
- Collaborate with the data management team, record center team and medical records team.
- Work closely with the data management director and medical records program manager to address issues found in the records.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring timely responses to inquiries.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in medical records, or quality assurance preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with other members of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
