Description
The Senior Master Planner is a critical role within our Operations team, responsible for developing and managing the master production schedule for the manufacturing facility. This role requires a highly analytical and strategic thinker with a deep understanding of planning principles, manufacturing processes, and supply chain dynamics. The Senior Master Planner will collaborate closely with various departments, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Procurement, to ensure alignment between demand forecasts, production capacity, and inventory levels.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the master production schedule (MPS) considering demand forecasts, production capacity, material availability, and inventory targets.
- Work closely with Operations to assess production capacity, identify constraints, and develop strategies to optimize resource utilization.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to understand demand patterns, promotional activities, and new product introductions, incorporating these into the MPS.
- Analyze inventory levels, identify potential shortages or surpluses, and recommend appropriate actions to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, inventory turns, and forecast accuracy, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Lead the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, facilitating discussions and driving consensus among stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain planning parameters within the ERP system – become site ERP Superuser
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance planning efficiency and effectiveness.
- Mentor and train other planners on best practices and planning methodologies.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in master planning.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to efficiency, cycle time & margin expansion.
- Follow Invio processes and controls work level instructions
- Able to travel within the US or internationally
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in master planning or production planning, preferably in a low volume / high mix environment.
- Deep understanding of planning principles, forecasting techniques, and inventory management strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency using ERP systems and advanced planning and scheduling (APS) software.
Other Skills And Abilities
- Experience within Medical Device industry a plus.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate others.
- APICS certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is preferred.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects.
- Holistic mindset with the ability to understand the broader business impact of automation initiatives.
- Strong financial acumen
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work in the US
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
