Position Summary:
The IT Support Specialist assists with department deliverables, provides superior customer service, identifies areas for improvement, and contributes to the overall success of the department.
Essential Functions:
- Resolve issues/requests through ticketing system, phone, email or in person
- Manage and prioritize help desk tickets; escalate as needed
- Configure and deploy laptops and desktops to company standards
- Support software ecosystem, including the installation, configuration and maintenance of approved applications
- Collaborate with hiring managers to deliver customized IT onboarding for new hires
- Manage approved user access and permissions at date of hire, during employment, and at termination
- Track and manage IT hardware assets
- Work closely with other IT team members to resolve complex issues and contribute to ongoing projects
- Business application administration and support
- Actively participating in department improvements. trouble shooting, root cause analysis
- Compliance work
- User access reviews & asset management reconciliation
Technical Competencies
- Proficient knowledge of IT disciplines
- Proficient knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft 365 environment
- Proficient application of troubleshooting methods and processes
- Robust understanding of computer hardware
- Intermediate understanding of network infrastructure components and configuration
- Basic knowledge of server operating systems
- Basic knowledge of software licensing and activation
- Basic knowledge of business processes and practices
- Understanding and awareness of security best practices and risks
Education/Professional Experience:
- Associate degree in computer science, information technology, or related field preferred
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are desired
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to operate computer, phone and general office equipment and handle documents
- Ability to talk and hear
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and crouch occasionally throughout workday
- Ability to carry or lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally throughout the workday
- Sharp focus of vision at close distances
- Occasional exposure to noise conditions ranging from moderate to extreme
- Occasional exposure to fumes and or airborne particles
Work Hours/Travel
- 1st shift work schedule, Monday – Friday
- This position may require occasional evening or weekend work
- Local travel (30%)
- Out of area and overnight travel (up to 5%)
