The Director provides oversight and direct supervision to an experienced Facilities staff with a broad range of duties and responsibilities. The position involves budgetary planning (capital and operating budgets), as well as other relevant administrative functions in addition to hands-on involvement, as the Director is expected to lead and manage Facilities operations yet also directly participate in physical plant functions. FPU, as a 60+ year old institution, and like many institutions in higher education, actively manages issues related to deferred maintenance, weather- and condition-related stressors on buildings and grounds, etc. As student success is paramount, and with an expectation that a campus environment(s) is always strong, the Director must prioritize customer service along with fiscal responsibility and staff satisfaction. With a current re-branding of FPU and recent launch of a major fundraising campaign, the Director will join FPU at a time of challenge, but also excitement, positive change, and entrepreneurial focus. It is anticipated that the full-time start date will be on or around June 2025.Qualifications: Significant experience in facilities operations and staff management, preferably in higher education or another industry which relies on a strong physical plant, is expected. A bachelor’s degree is desirable. The Director must have good organizational, professional, and interpersonal skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail are essential.Relocation is available, and this is primarily an on-campus (NH) position.
