Job Purpose:
As an engineer at Albany Engineered Composites, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement and ensuring the highest quality standards in our manufacturing processes. Whether working in quality assurance, process reliability, or mechanical design, engineers are key to maintaining operational excellence, optimizing performance, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

- Quality Engineers (QEs):
- Develop and implement quality standards, testing methods, and inspection processes to ensure product compliance with customer specifications.
- Conduct root cause analysis for non-conformance issues and drive corrective actions to improve product quality.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, design, and supplier teams to enhance product reliability and reduce defect rates.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and customer requirements.
- Process Reliability Engineers (PREs):
- Analyze and monitor production processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Use data-driven methods such as Six Sigma or Lean to reduce variability, minimize downtime, and optimize machine performance.
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and solve complex technical issues.
- Develop predictive maintenance strategies and integrate advanced technologies to ensure long-term operational reliability.
- Mechanical Engineers (MEs):
- Design, test, and validate mechanical components and systems used in the production of composite materials and structures.
- Work closely with production teams to translate customer requirements into detailed designs and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure that all mechanical systems comply with engineering principles, industry regulations, and safety standards.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing teams to resolve equipment issues and implement design improvements.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field).
- Previous experience in an aerospace or composites manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, standards, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with industry-specific quality systems and certifications (e.g., ISO, AS9100, Lean, Six Sigma).
- Proficient in CAD software, statistical analysis tools, and other engineering applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or in a team to tackle complex issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
Work Environment:
- Office and manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and materials used in production.
- Involves frequent collaboration with production teams, quality assurance, and external customers or suppliers.
- May involve occasional travel to support customer or supplier needs or attend industry events.
