Description
The Director of Operations will review, analyze, and evaluate business procedures. Implement policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations. Ensures work environments are adequate and safe while making sure goals are being met by department heads and company leadership.
Top 3 Responsibilities
- Managing budgets and P&L to ensure profitable operations and continuous improvement in the plant.
- Developing your team which includes Plant Manager, Facilities/Maintenance. Continually train and develop the team and hold them accountable to goals.
- Driving for results, which include P&L performance, PPOH, Labor percentage, Overtime, Utility utilization/costs, Order fill rates, Safety performance.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing plant safety, operation, costs and budgeting.
- Oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and engineering (maintenance) to ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
- Manage and supervise department managers (production managers). This includes hiring and training of direct and indirect reports, providing direction and guidance, coaching and accountability.
- Analyze and recommend plans for improvement - assess and recommend equipment improvements, methods and process improvements.
- Maintain an on-going action plan for improvement in the plant. Conduct weekly meetings to assign responsibility and due dates for action items.
- Provide plant and processing ideas, insights and expertise for the strategic and annual planning process.
- Execute daily efforts to reduce plant labor and increase throughput.
- Ensure high performance in efficiency, accuracy and quality in all plant departments.
- Develop the plant team which includes Production Managers, Shift Managers, and Production Associates
- Autonomy to interview, select, hire, develop, train and progressively counsel (if necessary) all direct reports in conjunction with HR, and within operating budget constraints.
- Implement standard operating procedures with division and assure they are being followed to create consistency and standardization in all we do.
- Achieve budget goals to ensure profitable operations and continuous improvement for all plant departments.
- Hold Facilities Manager accountable to preventive maintenance of equipment, and equipment uptime metrics.
- Act as a business partner to peers at the Director level - Director of Sales, Director of Service, Director of HR, etc.
- Consult with CFO and CEO when a decision impacting multiple departments is required.
Requirements
- Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance.
- Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Superior managerial and diplomacy skills.
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
- Industry laundry experience preferred but not required.
